Hi my name is mick and i have just built a processor an apleseed type
i am planning on using a 3kw imersion heater to heat the W V O its all installed but i have been reading a lot about manuafactures saying about the use of quote " dangerous im heaters" why do they consider them dangerous ??? Have i got to go for something else ?? i am a retired plumber heating eng so i could rig up a water coil inside the processor from a seperate heater , or is it just sour grapes to put people off making there own processors Question i have just coverted an old glass 1 gall butter churn into a methonol and lye mixer then it has a suction pipe so it is drawn into the processor, with no handling and no fumes to worryy about very pleased with how it works, i have checked it all out with water so far and all seems ok any comments would be appreciated as a beginner i have done a few test batches with new oil and one with old oil only 1 ltre lots but seems ok trying the different types of washing and am at the moment awaiting some misting nozzles from the U S A and also cosidering bubble washing with the fishtank stone method or i can put in a coil of copper with tiny holes in or will that be to much air and cause emulsification ?????
I have also just bought a hydrometer that will measure the correct S G of the stuff as i go through the stages

Lots of questions i know but i still need know i am doing it correctly

thanks mick Cool

I have been making my own biodiesel for 3 months now and have had mostly success with all the batch's I make, so read up on forums and make your own mind up on things. Made some emulsion but used salt to break it back to biodiesel

Trail and error is my method but when I need help there are hundreds of people out there with good advice.

Bubbling and blow drying 100 litres right now.

if you have questions I offer my help

happy brewing
