Well I finally happened to be out in the driving shed with my camera to get some shots of my modified GL push/pull apple turnover... Let me just say I am not the best photographer!! Embarassed
I use a rotary vane vacuum pump instead of a venturi to create the vacuum. I do 100L batches in her and it seems to work great!
I am no plumber so don't mind the less than ideal plumbing... Smile The one I am working on now will be much neat and tidier!
The glass wine carboy is the collection vessel for the methanol and for the water when dewatering. The sight tube is made from a double wall PVC vacuum pipe with a steel helix in between the layers, so far it is holding up well.
I removed the insulation around the heat tape on the pipe leading to the top of the condenser and also the wiring as I needed it elsewhere this cold winter! The heat tape made a big difference in the amount of collected methanol. There is some steel wool in the 45 at the tank leading into the pipe going to the condenser, this was to try and break up any bubbles before they reached the collection vessel... so far so good!
The pump plumbing looks like a hodgepodge because it is! My last pump that was plumbed nicely inline with the inline heater and above the glycerin layer did not work well so I just aborted this pump in its place... As I said the next one will be much nicer!!
Note that I have 2 different feeds into the pump one from above the glycerin layer and one directly off of the dished bottom (was top) of the tank. There are also 2 inputs into the tank besides the down pipe for the push stage. The bottom input has a 1/2" stainless flex pipe (like found on a European or Japanese toilet connection) with the end crimped into a nozzle to help mix things up, it seams to work really well. I have to throttle the valve on it to keep it from bashing against the inside of the tank!
I have detailed my trials and tribulations with this thing here:

Well if anyone has any questions just fire away.
Jon
